We have a double headliner show treat for you. Two comedians that have been putting on English comedy shows for years in Mexico City are preparing to record comedy specials. Martín León and Bryan Yanez have teamed up to deliver one of the most hilarious shows ever produced in English in Mexico City to leave with you the one of the most unforgettable nights in Mexico comedy history.
Bryan Gabriel Yañez Oliva is an American born comedian hailing from Philadelphia, Pa. His father hails from “la tierra caliente” Mexican state of Guerrero and his Cuban/Colombian mother comes from the “big apple” New York City. Bryan is the most Latino (heuristically) person you will ever meet. Bryan does not speak Spanish. A life-long “No Sabo Kid”, he tries to understand and communicate his often tone clashing, ironically awkward, perspectives that comes with being the most Latino person that cannot speak Spanish. Whether it’s trying to learn how to be Mexican; learning how to be Cuban; learning how to be Colombian or trying to fit in the USA as an American, he’s experienced a plethora of exploration in identity and humanity enroute to feeling at home in his skin and culture. Bryan has 10 years plus doing stand up comedy in Philadelphia and in Mexico City. He is preparing to record his comedy special this year and you’ll be treated to a sneak-peek, behind the scenes, view of a work-in-progress trying to find it’s way just as the comedian themselves.
Martín León based in Mexico City and with almost 15 years of experience, Martín was one of the first to do stand up comedy in Mexico and the first to do it as an openly gay man. His humor is observational, witty, mixing personal views and anecdotes while at the same time trying to make sense of an absurd world. He also always tries to leave any audiences he encounters a bit more open minded than when he found them. Martín has also been working to grow the English comedy scene in Mexico. He's fully bilingual and constantly performs in both English and Spanish to local and international crowds. Instagram:
